Grateful.

This cute dog. Molly Brown Truffles turned 13 years old this week. I can not fathom that I have had her that long. The night I picked her out, she was 8 weeks old, and squirmy, and adorable.. and I had ZERO intentions of coming home with a dog. I didn't have anything at home for her. No bowls, no bed, no leash or collar. Ok, so definitely not zero intentions... I had several hundred dollars in cash in my pocket JUST IN CASE I fell in love with her... so of COURSE I brought her home.  She was terrified of the car... I didn't have a box to put her in, and she was TINY. She pooped on the front seat of my car... and she cried the entire way to PetSmart. Once we got to PetSmart and I put her in the cart, she pooped there too. This dog has been on so many adventures with me. I love her stupid little fact so much, she has brought so much joy to my life.

If we're Facebook friends,  you've probably been following the #WindowWasher saga closely. The poor man (or is he actually more fortunate than the rest of us?) has zero social media accounts... so I've been relaying your comments on his elbows, and the extreme curiosity that you've all had about him. I'm not sorry that I've been somewhat secretive about him... it isn't that he doesn't deserve every ounce of the attention he's getting, (believe me, he does.) I just love a good cliffhanger.

The man has deemed Wednesday nights Pizza night. He wants to try a new pizza place every week. Last week, we went to The Penalty Box in Damariscotta and shared two small pizzas. Of course I had to get the Broadstreet Bully Pizza. My love of the Philadelphia Flyers knows NO bounds.

Yesterday, I saw a post on Facebook on one of the message boards about a local place serving up some BBQ- and I was STARVING after running around with the littlest nephew and Sister D to complete our weekend errands. So I headed over to The Shanty in Warren for a half of a Jerk Chicken, Potato Salad, Corn Bread and Baked Beans. All for the low price of $11.95. It was super, super tasty.

After the meal at The Shanty I thought maybe I wouldn't do breakfast this morning.. but then my Dad asked me where I was going for breakfast.. so he and I went to The Rockport Diner  and I had a Blueberry Pancake, A Poached egg and some crispy bacon that my father determined "looked like you could see right through it". He's not wrong.. it was the thinnest bacon I've ever seen.. but that meant it was super crispy, so that is ok with me.
It's been a full weekend, yet again. I don't know why the days pass so quickly - but the older I get, the quicker the days go. Sister D reminded me today that earlier in the year I was really struggling .. just with life in general. Ending a relationship, living completely on my own, for the first time... EVER. And this blog, this quest for delicious breakfast foods changed literally everything. I'm so grateful. Not just for bacon.. but for all of this. For life. For that small, squirmy dog and her 13 years on earth. For everything.
