Who Doesn't Love Pie?
It's been another full weekend.. and I find myself sitting down now, at 9:15pm to write this blog. And as I do it, I can hear my dear friend Sarah saying,"That blog was boring." .. I just don't have it in me tonight. That may have something to do with the handsome man beside me on the couch binge watching the first season of Ozark, so we can start season 2 together... but I digress.
Yesterday, I took myself on a small adventure to buy myself some new yarn at The Cashmere Goat, and have some breakfast at The Bagel Cafe in Camden Maine. Carbs. I love all of the carbs. I can't help it.. but amongst my favorites, are a good bagel. This is really the best one in the area... I had an Italian Bagel toasted with Olive Cream Cheese on the side, and it was perfectly heavenly.
Last week, Sister D and I were going to take the niece and nephew apple picking... but the nephew got sick, so we had to postpone. But.. I really wanted to bake a pie for the boyfriend, so I bought a bag of apples at the grocery store and whipped him up this bad boy.
Pie. WHO DOESN'T LOVE PIE?? There's something about making order out of chaos which I love. It's why I love knitting.. it's why I love cooking, it's why I love baking.. you take these ordinary ingredients and throw them together and they make MAGIC. That pie ... it was delicious. But today was apple picking make-up day, so we took the littles to School House Farms for some apple picking.
It was a good day. Spent the day with my family... and my night with my amazing boyfriend eating fried seafood and laughing. I don't know when or how, or why I got so lucky.... but this life I'm living... I'm pretty gosh darn happy with it. It's made me a less funny and entertaining writer... but I'll take contentedness any day of the week.
