Imagine the shock and awe of my day, when I realized that there were two FANTASTIC trucks in my neighborhood today. The First was Big D's Grub- which serves up some pretty amazing Ginger Chicken Tacos. I thought, when I stepped up to the window, that that's what I had ordered... two Ginger Chicken Tacos. It was taking an inordinate amount of time for my food to be ready.. I couldn't figure it out. I had paid.. I didn't count my change.. just threw it in my wallet.. so when the guy handed me this huge bag, I couldn't figure out what I had done, but thought it would be a surprise when I get back to my desk. I ended up with two of these humungous sandwiches!! Ginger Chicken with a Daikon slaw and cilantro. It was amazing... and I ended up with an extra one for dinner. SCORE!
The second truck in my neighborhood today, was The Cupcake Crew. If I could have gotten away with eating just cupcakes for lunch, I would have gotten more than one cupcake. They're regular sized, none of those jumbo cupcakes that you see at Crumbs- they're a little pricey for a regular sized cupcake... but let me tell you how worth it they are! This Salted Caramel Cupcake was pure heaven in caramel form. The frosting was a thick and topped a Tahitian Vanilla cupcake which was full of Fleur De Sel and caramel filling. I can't even begin to say how good this was. The perfect amount of cake to frosting to filling ratio... I wish I'd gotten three and forgotten about the sandwich. What will tomorrow bring? Can it top today? Probably not... stay tuned.
