Day 3- Kimchee for me!
I've been stalking this truck for weeks. Korilla was part of Season Two of The Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network. It's a show that I don't watch... but may need to start watching. Every time I passed this truck, (after I'd eaten lunch... of course.) there was a line of at least 25 people. Small tip, that's how you separate the good trucks from the ... not so good.
After yesterdays dual ginger chicken sandwich fiasco, I was very nervous about ordering my lunch. They have a bunch of options- but first you choose your vehicle (Taco/Burrito/Bowl) I went with the latter. Next you pick your rice (Sticky or Bacon Kimchee Fried Rice.) Again, I went with the latter. There are four protein options- Bulgogi (Spicy Korean Beef), Pork, Chicken or Tofu. I went with the Bulgogi. I added Salsa and Monteray Jack cheese... and a little pile of Daikon (which you see in the upper right hand corner there..) I also had them add the Korilla sauce.. which is a spicy mayo. Y'all... this was like a Chipotle Steak Bowl on crack. It was so delicious!!! There were a lot of options I didn't go for, they have an entire kimchee bar, and a vegetable bar that you can add to your meal... I opted not to add anything else, because this thing easily weighed five pounds. $9.00 - and one of the freshest, tastiest meals I've had to date. Worth the hype, worth the wait in line... worth every cent.
I'm going to gain a million pounds in the next 3.5 weeks....
