Day 4- Now Eat This

My love affair with Rocco DiSpirito started in 2003... when he launched his reality show "The Restaurant" - which was the tale of Rocco opening his first restaurant. The ridiculous relationship he had with his financier Jeffrey Chodorow convinced me that the restaurant business was not a place I ever wanted to be. Thankfully, my love of food has always kept me cooking... and I think I love cooking because it's not my job.  So, imagine my delight when I saw the truck outside of the building yesterday. I had my heart set on Kimchee yesterday... and figured I'd catch Rocco's truck the next time it was in the neighborhood.

My goal today, was to hit the Rickshaw Dumpling Truck. This truck is elusive, and has sent me on a fools errand two weeks in a row!!! I use a great app on my iPhone called Tweat.it- this app maps the food trucks in the city based on their exact location, which it pulls from the company's twitter account.  Last week I walked four blocks to the Rickshaw truck... only to find that it wasn't where they had said it would be.  So, I was super excited to see it on the map today, a block and a half away from my office. Only, you guessed it, when I got there... no truck.

On my way to the missing Dumpling truck, I passed The Rocco DiSpirito Now Eat This truck. Everything on the truck is less than 350 calories.... so, in an attempt to appease my sister, who told me I should have a salad today- I hit up my pal Rocco for some delicious low calorie eats.

General Tso's chicken with broccoli, scallions and rice noodles.  $7.00 310 calories. Seriously? Really amazing food.... They had a pretty extensive menu- which included cupcakes. A friend said those were terrible... but I didn't try them myself, so I can't say for sure.  This dish was seriously spicy- my eyeballs were sweating... but I would try this truck again, for sure!!
