Is this thing on??
Ok- who here loves Pinterest? Undoubtedly, theres a few of you who have no idea what I'm talking about... but it's a fantastic place to pin ideas- things you want to buy, things you want to make, things you want to read... you can pin anything you'd like. Because I'm an unimaginative jerk, I mostly go through what my friends have pinned on a semi-frequent basis and steal their pins.... which is how I came across THIS recipe for Lobster Macaroni and cheese.
You're all probably very surprised to hear that I can cook- after spending six weeks in the City buying my lunch every day- but that was more about the experience. I love to cook. In fact, if I didn't live alone, I'd cook every single day- but most days you'll find me eating leftovers over the sink... like the good little bachelorette that I am. Anyway, one glance at this recipe, and I wanted it in my mouth... immediately.
As a New Englander, it pained me to pay $12.00 for a single 1 1/4 pound lobster... but, they offered to steam it for me- and I took them up on it, so that it would feel a bit like I was getting what I paid for.
The recipe called for just the one lobster for two servings of mac and cheese.... but my thought process was, why have only two servings, when I could have four? (I'll eat it all week... over the sink, for dinner.) I still kept just the one lobster.... but I doubled everything else in the recipe and made a pyrex dish full, instead of two bowls full. This required copious amounts of Gruyere, White Cheddar and Colby Jack cheese.
I turned all of that cheese, into this:
It's super super good.... and not diet friendly at all. I apologize for the crappy pictures, I have horrible lighting in my kitchen... now, excuse me, but I must go... there's a lobster that gave his life for this macaroni and cheese that I would like to continue eating.
