Day 17- Dear Chocolate, Will you be my Valentine?

I'm running out of time in the Big Apple. I'm running out of time, and I've had a hellacious week (and it's only Tuesday.) and haven't had much time to venture out for lunch. So, I headed back to Big D's Grub Truck today for a yummy lunch.  You may remember them from the Twofer Tuesday entry from a few weeks ago.  I ordered a Ginger Chicken Rice platter, which I ate half of before I realized I hadn't taken a photo... it was really good. $9.00
There was a lot of fresh cilantro, some delicious kimchee and a Daikon Radish Slaw. But the real hero of today was not the lunch that I inhaled ... so that I could move onto dessert.

I headed up the block from my office to Leonidas Fresh Belgian Chocolates to indulge myself for Valentine's day. My amazing ability to find AWESOME food has not yet snagged me a Valentine... so what's a single girl to do? Suck it up and buy yourself ridiculously expensive Belgian chocolates!  Half of these bad boys (There are two more layers below this... ahem.) are in my refrigerator.  The other half were split by me eating some.. and sharing with the rest of my staff and coworkers. I had no idea what I was getting when I bought the 1lb box.  (Yes.. 1 pound of chocolate... the real reason I may still be single lies therein... but I'll never admit to that again.) There are two pieces of practically everything they offer... and I have to say that while I have no idea what is in half of them, they're really tasty.

A lot of people complain about Valentine's Day.  That it's commercial and expensive... and that you should celebrate love every day, not just one predetermined day a year.  I agree with all of those things... when I have a valentine and when I don't.  But this year, I celebrated me.. my amazing independence, and some amazing food. (I just shoved some Portuguese food down my gullet for dinner.)  It totally doesn't suck to be me.

And just for funzies... some gratuitous shots from the ferry today. (It was a beautiful day in the city.)
